Introduction

We understand that it’s difficult to find a good fit when searching for a church to call home so we want to help you figure out if University Baptist Church (UBC) is the place for you. Some things that make us unique are:

UBC’S Mission Statement

Helping people become wholehearted followers of Jesus Christ who know Him and make Him known.

Friendliness/Hospitality

The number one piece of feedback we receive from guests is how friendly our church is. Our desire is to express God’s love and grace to all who enter our doors and we have many people in our church who strive to make sure everyone’s time here is as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

Focus on Discipleship

God placed a passion in our hearts to help people grow in their faith. Discipleship is growing in your faith to live and think more and more like Jesus. We take this very seriously and this is evident through our preaching, Growth Groups, classes, and meetings where we actively strive to disciple our members.

Growth Groups

We believe God created us to be in relationships with other believers so we can be held accountable, be encouraged, pray together, and be ministered to in difficult times. Our Growth Groups are small, in-home, sermon-based gatherings. They are as important as any other activity within the church (including the worship service) as they provide your best opportunity to grow spiritually and truly be part of the Body of Christ.

College Students

Our location provides us a unique position to minister to Wright State University, the University of Dayton, Sinclair Community College, Clark State Community College, Cedarville University, Wilberforce University, Central State University, and Antioch College. College students are incredible assets to our church body, as they add passion and energy to our worship time and are much-needed servants in our ministries. We are excited about the chance we have to give students the opportunity to put into practice what they are learning here at the church.

Community focus

Because we desire to reach the community where God has placed us, we have different events each year that are outreach-oriented and aimed at allowing community members to connect with the church. At Shaw Elementary School, we provide snacks, backpacks, clothes, tutoring, and our coffee cart program as a way of sharing God’s love to the staff and students there. We also provide the coffee cart program at Coy Middle School. In addition, we also take part in a ministry called Feed the Creek which feeds children and families in need through our local school system.

Multi-Generational Church

UBC is blessed to have a congregation made up of people in all walks of life. We have an almost equal portion of young children, grade schoolers, college students, young adults, middle-aged couples, and seniors and it is a blessing to see God work in so many ways.

If this sounds like the type of church you’re looking for – we would be excited to have you join us!
