UBC Mission Update - 2021, Issue 10

Prayer Focus: The Cabildo Family

Phil and Paula Cabildo, along with their children, are a UBC-supported missionary family serving through Ambassador Football in Mexico. Their aim is to reach the youth of Mexico for Christ through soccer. Paula had recently been experiencing some abdominal pain but received a diagnosis which provided helpful clarity as to the issues she was dealing with. Please keep the Cabildo family in your prayers as they navigate the days ahead.  They thank God for a concrete diagnosis, and for marginal improvement in some areas.

Please pray specifically for complete physical healing for Paula, for strength and grace for Phil to lovingly lead his wife and family amidst the demands of his position, and for faithfulness and fruitfulness in their ministry.

Please feel free to send encouraging notes directly to Phil and Paula at: pcabildo@ambassadorsfootball.org.

Recent Highlight:

Operation Christmas Child Packing Party

On December 20th, about 30 UBC members gathered together for the first ever church-wide Operation Christmas Child packing party. It was a great time of fellowship together as kids through grandparents packed a total of 260 boxes together. Not only were each of the boxes filled with items that were mostly provided by the generous donations from the UBC church body, but they were prayed over several times as they made their way through the family center. Additionally, UBC U!kids students, Aliya and Brynlee, took sewing lessons from UBC member, Miss Kathy. Their most recent project was hand puppets for the OCC boxes. What an amazing opportunity to learn to sew and bless others!

Spotlight:

Baranski Growth Group and the Victory Project

Once a month, the Baranski Growth Group makes and serves a meal to the students and staff at Victory Project in Downtown Dayton. They stay and share the meal, and spend time hanging out afterwards. They get to play pool and basketball with the kids as they seek to establish and build relationships with the students who participate in the program. The mission of Victory Project is to provide an alternative to the streets for the youth of Dayton, and specifically serves young men in middle and high school. Victory Project is 100% privately funded, which gives them the freedom to go beyond mentoring the students in academic and life skills by daily presenting the truth of Christ to these young men. If you would like to learn more about this amazing ministry you can visit their website at victoryproject.org. Jacob and Sarah Baranski or Dave and Samantha Kauffman would also be happy to answer any questions you might have!
