Reflection Sunday

Sunday, March 5, 2023

As you probably know, it wasn’t a typical service today at UBC. We did singing, the missions prayer, and then after Jason gave a brief devotional thought, people were encouraged to participate in an open mic time. Then, everyone was invited to pray in the new building.

So, no formal sermon this week, but here is some help for discussion:

  1. In the Scriptures, what are the different ways that God can be present?

    1. His omnipresence - always present, everywhere (Psalm 139)

    2. His personal presence - Holy Spirit’s presence in believers lives (John 16:5-14)

    3. His manifest presence - God shows up in remarkable, unmistakable ways (Exodus 3, Daniel 3, Acts 2, etc.].

  2. What are some of your favorite stories in Scripture where God manifestly “shows up”? How has God used those passages to encourage you over the years?

  3. What were the circumstances that led you to UBC?

  4. How has God used this church in your life? Where have you seen God present and at work?

  5. What is on your heart to pray for UBC as we transition into the new space?

  6. Let’s spend some time thanking God for the new space and asking for His presence and work in our church family as we move forward.
