Questions For Greater Discussion
This text gave us a vivid example of God’s just judgement for sin. How do you feel about personally talking about God’s just judgment?
Please read Matthew 19:1-6. How does the teaching from Jesus on divorce teach us about the nature of marriage? Why is marriage a critical part in thinking through healthy sexual behavior in contrast to what we see in Genesis 19?
Please read Jude 1:7. How does Jude show us how Sodom is condemned for homosexual perversion? Side note: what is Jude combatting in his letter and why does he use Sodom and Gomorrah as an example?
When we think of God’s just judgement towards sin, how should that color our perspective on immorality around us today?
What are some ways in your life you may be “settling in Sodom” and allowing wickedness to remain in your life? Lingering, longing, or allowing? Think through 1 Corinthians 15:33.
Please read 2 Peter 2:6-9. What are we supposed to take away from passages like Genesis 19? How should it stir in our hearts a desire to seek the Lord for mercy?
Jason talked about homosexual behavior, incest, abuse, and abortion (child sacrifice). How do we love and care for yet remain set apart from those engaging in these activities?
Pray and close it out!!
