Read the Main Text: Genesis 1:1-19 

Main points about God:

  1. God has eternally existed as Trinity

  1. God is the all powerful creator of the world

How do we apply is practically:

  1. We are to worship God as creator

  2. As believers we should reject any theories that deny God as Creator

  3. Handle your differing views on creation with charity

  4. Remember, Genesis is ultimately about Jesus

Questions for greater discussion:

  • Why do many seek opportunities to reject God as creator? Read Romans 1:21-25 and discuss

  • Why is the creation narrative so important for the integrity of our understanding of the Bible?

  • What are some ways you work to use the Bible as a baseline for your creation viewpoint? Is creation a difficult doctrine for you to confront?

  • What are some ways we can lovingly advocate for God’s creation work without harming our Christian witness?
