I Am: The Light of the World

Sunday, April 6th, 2025

Please Read

  • John 8:12-20

Main Claim: In a world full of darkness, the light of life is found in Jesus

What does the claim mean?

  • Light here is a reference to Christ’s divinity

  • The Feast of Booths as an immediate context is not accidental and is directly tied to Jesus’ claim

Why does the claim matter?

  • Jesus is either truthful or a liar

  • If you are not following Jesus then you are walking in darkness

  • You can be walking in darkness even when you are devoted to religion

How can we respond?

  • Reject Jesus and live in the darkness of sin

  • You can accept Him and live in the light

  • You can reflect Him and be light in the world
