Generations: Week 2

Sunday May 17, 2020

  • Take some time to read Psalm 78:1-8 aloud.

  • On a scale of 1 to 10, where would you rank the closeness you currently feel with God?

  • In the sermon, Jason talked about how hard it is to hear the voice of God when other voices are so dominant in our lives. “Whatever has our attention sets our direction.” What are some of those “other voices” that you might be giving attention to?

    • What are the tactics that those “other voices” usually use? (Don’t just name the distraction, think about how it works.)

  • What is a passage of scripture that has helped you know God and hear His voice?

  • Is there a passage of scripture that you’ve read recently that has confronted and changed your actions or thoughts about something?

  • Whether it be devotions, quiet time, personal study, etc. - what does your regular time in scripture look like?

    • Do you have a consistent time?

    • Do you have a meaningful plan?

    • Were there times in the past when it was better? If so, why?

  • What are some practical steps you (or your group) can take to encourage others in their personal walk with the Lord?

  • Was there anything else from the sermon that was important to you?

*If you find yourself unable to confidently say that you’ve been saved by Jesus, please reach out to your Growth Group or our church staff. We’d love to help!
