Sunday, July 18, 2021

  1. Read II Thessalonians 3:6-15. How does Paul define idleness? (Give examples.)

    • After defining what idleness is, what is idleness NOT?

  2. What is the “creation mandate” that Jason described?

    • Why does it matter in the conversation about idleness?

  3. Jason addressed 3 problems with idleness. The first was “mooching” (vs 7-10). How does mooching impact a community?

  4. The second problem with idleness was “meddling”. What is a busybody (vs 11) or meddler?

    • How does a busybody impact a community?

  5. The third problem was misbehaving… or plainly stated, disobedience. How does someone in continual disobedience impact a community?

  6. Jason gave us two instructions on how we respond to idleness: Keep working & give warnings (vs 13-15). Do either of these strike you in a particularly personal way?

  7. Do you struggle with laziness or idleness?

    • Is it hard for you to feel the motivation to keep working and striving toward what is right?

  8. How do you normally respond when you interact with someone who tends toward idleness or laziness?

    • What is a right way to give a warning?

  9. How does real community play into the conversation about idleness? What changes when genuine community is involved?
