Acts - Week 35

Have someone read this week’s passage: Acts 15:36-41

  1. Have you ever experienced a disagreement with someone in the church?

    • If not, have you ever been in a church, where a disagreement took place?

    • In general terms, what was the conflict over? How did it resolve?

  2. What are Paul and Barnabas disagreeing over in this scenario?

  3. How did their disagreement resolve, both in the short-term and in the long-term?

    • How does “keeping the purpose of Acts in mind” help us make sense of this episode between Paul and Barnabas? (Hint: Luke is showing us how God uses all types of people and many sorts of situations to spread His Gospel message.)

  4. What does this teach us about our God and His purposes in the church?

  5. How does the life of Jesus help us see purpose in situations like this episode of Acts?

  6. What relationships or situations right now do you most need to remember God’s

    sovereignty?

    • What difference would it make if you look for the hand of God in that situation?

    • Spend time praying about any particular needs.
