Main Idea: Don’t hesitate to buy in now to God’s inheritance for your future
What does this passage teach us historically?
Abraham identifies as a sojourner and foreigner in his own promised land
Abraham is respected by the people in the land.
Abraham has a specific place in mind and seems to seek an honest marketplace transaction among the hittite leaders.
Ephron treats Abraham as a kinsman and freely offers him the cave to bury Sarah yet Abraham refuses
Abraham pays full price and does not allow any undeclared indebtedness to the pagan people of the land.
Abraham interacts with wicked men fairly, courteously, and prudently.
Abraham with this purchase fully cements his commitment to the promise of God that this land would be the land of his people.

God provides for our needs when we need them
